With the support and guidance of the Lower Columbia Community Development Team Society (LCCDTS), the Incredible Farmers Market (IFM) was established and has grown into the vibrant community cornerstone it is today, proudly serving the Lower Columbia region and beyond.
What began in 2016 as a small local market on Cedar Avenue in downtown Trail brought together just 8–10 vendors and a handful of dedicated volunteers. From the very beginning, the market focused on connecting the community with fresh, local products while strengthening the local economy.
Since then, Trail’s Incredible Farmers Market has grown significantly. Today, it hosts a thriving outdoor market from May through October, welcoming 40–50 vendors each market day throughout the season. In addition, the Trail market offers a variety of special events between November and April. The largest of them being Trail’s Incredible Christmas Market—a three-day celebration featuring over 150 vendors from across the Kootenays and attracting more than 10,000 visitors each year.
In 2022, IFM proudly expanded with the launch of a sister market in Fruitvale, BC. Fruitvale’s Incredible Farmers Market is hosted at the Pole Yard in the heart of downtown, encouraging visitors to shop both the market and surrounding local businesses. The market features themed events throughout the summer and concludes the year with its own two-day Christmas Market showcasing the best of local food and artisan goods.
The IFM family continued to grow in 2024 with the addition of Rossland’s Incredible Farmers Market, hosted on Queen Street in downtown Rossland, BC. This market offers themed summer markets and partners with local organizations to create engaging, family-friendly events that reflect the spirit of the community.
Together, these markets contribute to vibrant downtown cores, making fresh, locally made products accessible while supporting farmers, makers, bakers, and small businesses. Over the past decade, the Incredible Farmers Market has experienced remarkable growth, and we are deeply grateful for the continued support that allows us to serve the Lower Columbia and surrounding communities.
